CREATIVE CUISINE AT OSTERIA FERNANDA

If you are looking for a Michelin quality meal without the Michelin price tag head to Osteria Fernanda in the Trastevere neighbourhood of Rome. We ate here our last night in Rome and it was gastronomic creativity at its finest. Their ever changing and unique menu reflects the kitchen's use of fresh and seasonal ingredients.

The meal began with an assortment of amuse bouches which included spinach sponge and onion au gratin, along with fresh bread and beurre d'Isigny. We then had the spaghetti with scorched eggplant, red shrimp and pistachio. This was followed by the risotto with herbal extract, thyme, miso, and pecorino ice cream. We ended our meal with dessert: an assortment of sweets followed by a delicious combination of grilled banana, Pu'erh tea, and coffee ice cream.
