PIZZA & CAPPUCCINO AT ORETTA

One style of food I can eat every day is Italian so when I hear about a new Italian restaurant in the city it goes to the top of my list. Oretta offers a modern take on traditional Italian with a main restaurant in the front and a cafe in the rear. Although I was curious about the food I had come across photos of the restaurant's stunning interior online and was excited to see it in person.

I came with a friend on a weekday at lunchtime and it was relatively quiet which we didn't mind at all. The 25 foot windows at the front of the restaurant filled the entire space with a beautiful natural light. The mix of colour tones and textures accompanied by hints of brass, wood, and marble make for an elegant yet inviting ambiance. To start, I ordered the porcini arancini with truffle and thyme aioli (so delicious!). I was in the mood for pizza so I decided to try the 'Piemonte': fior di latte, truffle crema, roasted garlic, mix mushroom, and toma cheese. It tasted as good as it sounded and I would definitely order it again. My friend had the 'Margherita' and was happy with her choice as well. We ended our meal with a cappuccino but I wish I had gotten one of their pastries from the cafe. The cafe also offers pizzas, panini, and frittatas if you are looking for lunch on-the-go.
